How ToolsForge Works
Traditional online tools upload your file to a server, process it there, and send the result back. ToolsForge skips the server entirely — the tool itself runs inside your browser tab.
Pick a tool & add your file
Choose one of the ten tools and drag in a file (or paste text). Nothing is uploaded — the browser reads the file directly from your device.
It's processed on your device
Open-source libraries like pdf-lib, PDF.js, and an on-device AI model do the work locally via JavaScript and WebAssembly, using your own hardware.
Download the result
The output is assembled in memory and saved straight from your browser. Close the tab and nothing is left behind on any server.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is ToolsForge really free?
Yes. Every tool is free with no usage caps, no watermarks, and no premium tier. The site is supported by advertising instead of subscriptions.
Do my files get uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool processes files locally in your browser using technologies like WebAssembly and the Canvas API. Your files never leave your device, which you can verify by watching your browser's network tab while using a tool.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no email walls. Open a tool, use it, and download the result.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no artificial limit. The practical limit is your device's memory — very large files (hundreds of megabytes) may be slow or fail on low-memory devices because everything is processed locally.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Tools rely on standard browser APIs, so anything reasonably modern works.
Do the tools work on a phone?
Yes. Every page is responsive and the tools work in mobile browsers. Heavy jobs like rendering a long PDF at high DPI will simply take longer on a phone than on a laptop.
Do the tools work offline?
Mostly. Once a tool page has loaded, processing happens locally, so most tools keep working if your connection drops. The Background Remover needs to download its AI model the first time you use it.
Is it safe to process confidential documents?
Files are never transmitted anywhere, so nothing is stored on a server that could leak. That said, use your own judgment and your organization's policies for highly sensitive material — and always keep the original file.
Why do results sometimes differ from desktop software?
Browser APIs have honest limits. For example, our PDF compressor restructures files and strips metadata but can't re-encode embedded images like Acrobat can. Each tool page has a Limitations section that explains exactly what it can and cannot do.
How do I report a bug or request a tool?
Email us via the contact page. Real bug reports from visitors are how most improvements here happen — we typically reply within 1–2 business days.
